Background There are already several good raw conversion and processing programs available. Unfortunately, many of them are relatively expensive or difficult to master. Or both. RAW PhotoDesk offers an inexpensive and easy-to-use alternative. Process Nikon NEF files with Capture-like quality Using Nikon's own SDK file library (no other programs needed), RAW PhotoDesk will read and process NEF files from practically all current Nikon models (including D2X and D70). Unlike some other programs, RAW PhotoDesk uses all in-camera settings (curves, white balance, contrast, sharpening, etc.). RAW PhotoDesk can even do a few things that Nikon Capture can't, like adding overlay text and create web galleries. Canon RAW files Download the Canon support library to read and process raw files (.CRW, .TIF and .CR2) from practically all current Canon cameras. Sigma X3F files The X3F processing library used in RAW PhotoDesk was developed jointly by Foveon and Polybytes, Inc., and incorporates the same imaging algorithms found in standard Foveon viewing and conversion products. Read the review at www.sd9.org.uk. Adobe DNG RAW PhotoDesk will read Adobe's Digital Negative (DNG) format. Other RAW formats Other formats are supported on an as-is basis. The program will read files from many different cameras, but not all. It is highly recommended that you test the program to see if it will properly work with your own files. The program will read many Olympus ORF, Pentax PEF, Minolta MRW, Fuji RAF, and other raw files. Create web galleries See sample web gallery created with RAW PhotoDesk. Program features:
